    Description
    Plinth with three-stepped top surmounted by sculpted decorative cap stone. Tablets mounted on four sides of plinth display names . Statue of First World War soldier mounted on plinth. Also associated pavement set circular mosais plaque and wall mounted story board.

    2009: New statue, based on First World War soldier, installed 12th June 2009. Sculptured in Portland Stone. 2009: Project to restore figure of soldier to the top of the memorial. To be unveiled 14th June 2009. 1996: RENOVATION OF MEMORIAL: CLEANED AND NAMES TABLETS REPLACED. CAP STONE GILDED. 1959: THE MEMORIAL ORIGINALLY HAD A STONE FIGURE OF SOLDIER IN FULL UNIFORM WITH ARMS REVERSED SURMOUNTING THE PLINTH. HOWEVER, THE FIGURE WAS DAMAGED AND FELL OFF AND WAS REPLACED BY A DECORATIVE CAP STONE
