    Description
    Church organ with wall mounted dedicatory brass plaque on oak backboard. (Organ was rebuilt in 1919 to commemorate end of WW1 and centenary of church.) Brass plaque has partially bevelled edges, and with an incised, black painted, border set in approximately one inch from the edge. Inset from each of the four corners is a small laurel wreath, in relief. The names of the fallen are set out in three columns below the main dedication. Immediately below the main brass plaque, there is an additional brass strip screwed to the same backboard, showing two further names. All text is incised and painted black.

    THE ORGAN IN THIS CHURCH WAS RE-BUILT AND/ THIS TABLET ERECTED AS AN ACT OF THANKSGIVING/ AND IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE OF THE FOLLOWING/ PARISHIONERS AND WORSHIPPERS OF ST JOHN'S/ WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE CAUSE OF RIGHT AND/ FREEDOM IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919./ (Names)/ "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS. THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS."/ (Names)
