    THIS MONUMENT / WAS ERECTED BY THE / RESIDENTS OF THE CHAPELRY / OF CINDERHILL IN MEMORY OF / THE MEN WHOSE NAMES ARE / WRITTEN HERE WHO, AT THE CALL / OF DUTY, LEFT ALL THAT WAS DEAR / TO THEM AND GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR / THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR :- /1914-1919 GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS. / ETERNAL REST GIVE UNTO THEM, O LORD.
