    • Nottingham Journal, Monday 5th May 1924 (page 5) reported: HONOUR TO FALLEN. MEMORIAL TO 320 EMPLOYEES OF MESSRS. BOOTS. In memory of the 320 employees of the Nottingham branches of Boots, the Chemists, who gave their lives in the war, two tablets were erected in the pavilion on the Boots' Athletic Ground, Lady Bay. These were unveiled on Saturday by the Rev. H. T Hayman, M.A. (late Chaplain of the Robin Hoods), who, in his address, said that these occasions always brought to his mind the great idea of unselfishness. Several of the fallen, he said, were prepared, and when the war came they willingly offered themselves for their country without thought for themselves. World peace, he concluded, was wanted by everyone, but such a state could not be brought about unless people lived in harmony in their domestic lives'. https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0001898/19240505/059/0005
