    Description
Bronze statue of winged Victory holding a laurel wreath surmounting a globe with laurel garlands at its base, which is set upon a square Portland stone column on the front face of which a cast bronze laurel wreath sits above the Dedication, which is in bronze lettering. The plaques carrying the names from the Great War are on the other three faces. They were originally cast in bronze, but they were stolen, and subsequently replaced with laminated plastic plaques. Around the top of the column a cross is carved on the front and rear faces above the words Honour, Freedom, Justice, and Peace carved in succession. The column stands on a graduated Portland stone plinth, which is set on a sandstone base standing within the central raised section of the garden. The Second World War Dedication is incised into the front face of the base, with the names on cast bronze plaques on each side, with an additional name incised into the stonework below the right-hand plaque. This man is also commemorated on a separate individual additional memorial plaque on a wooden cross to the right of the memorial (WMR29066). Two diamond shaped cast bronze plaques recording Royal Visits to the memorial sit on concrete bases on each side of the base (WMR 116905). The memorial is located in a garden behind a low wall and steel railings at the road junction.
