Description: Granite obelisk with stone blocks placed at its base. Two circles of stones are placed around the memorial. Dedicatory inscription is carved on the side of the obelisk with a metal plaque placed below it bearing a five pointed star superimposed upon an anchor enclosed in a broad circlet.
Inscription: IN/ MEMORY/ OF THE/ AMERICAN/ PRISONERS/ OF WAR/ WHO DIED/ BETWEEN THE YEARS/ 1809 & 1814/ AND LIE/ BURIED HERE/ DULCE ET/ DECORUM EST/ PRO PATRIA/ MORI/ IN HONOR(SIC) OF SERVICE/ IN THE WAR OF 1812/ N.S./ U.S.D./ 1812/ AMERICANS
