    VERY ELABORATE TABLET WITH THREE INSET SECTIONS CONTAINING THE NAME PANELS. INSCRIPTION RUNS ACROSS THE TOP. IN FRONT OF THE TABLET ARE FIGURES, IN COLOUR, OF THE VIRGIN MARY HOLDING THE BODY OF CHRIST AFTER HE HAS BEEN TAKEN DOWN FROM THE CROSS, WHICH STANDS BEHIND. ALSO ALTAR RAILS SMALL GILT CROWNS MARK THE CENTRE OF EACH NAME PANEL AT THE TOP, THE CENTRE ONE BEING MOUNTED ON THE CROSS
    Inscription
    TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND TO THE HONOUR OF THE MEN OF ST MARY'S PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919. THE COMMUNION RAILS AND TABLETS IN THIS CHURCH WERE ERECTED/ BY THEIR FELLOW PARISHIONERS AS A LOVING TRIBUTE TO THEIR MEMORY, AND THAT ALL WHO WORSHIP HERE MAY OFFER PRAYERS FOR THE REPOSE OF THEIR SOULS. MAY THEY REST IN PEACE AMEN

    2007: St Mary's Church is now redundant. There are steps in place to safeguard the memorial. 2020: contacted the Diocese, the plaques are covered and not visible, but remains in situ. Building granted Grade II listing
