Description: Three-stepped square base surmounted by a skirted, square sectioned pillar incorporating weather moulding courses top & bottom & colonettes at each corner topped with orb finials. Continuing above the pillar is a four-hooded, short, square sectioned, tapering spire with square boss & orb finial. Incised inscription & names on tablets attached to side faces of pillar.
Inscription: Side 1 : SARSDEN CUM CHURCHILL. TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 / (9 NAMES) / RESULTING FROM THE WAR / (2 NAMES) Side 2 : YOU GAVE YOUR BEST, THEN LAID YOU WEARY DOWN AND TOOK YOUR REST Side 3 : TO LIVE IN HEARTS WE LEAVE BEHIND IS NOT TO DIE Side 4 : I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE, HE THAT BELIEVETH IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE / 1939-1945 / (5 NAMES)
