Description: Walled mounted, landscape orientated wooden board incorporating a carved foliate border in relief, enclosing an inscribed inscription and name. First line of inscription infilled with black paint, first letters of the name are infilled in red and the remaining text infilled with a gold coloured paint. Emblems in relief at upper corners of inscription area.
Inscription: IN LOVING MEMORY OF / HERBERT DENTON / GUNNER / ROYAL MARINE ARTILLERY / WHO DIED IN THE SINKING OF / HMS NATAL / DECEMBER 30TH 1915 AGED 23 / MAY GOD ALMIGHTY GRANT HIM A JOYFUL / RESURRECTION AT THE LAST GREAT DAY / WHEN THE SEA SHALL GIVE UP ITS DEAD
