Description: White marble TABLET, wall mounted, engraved names in black, below is a brass plaque dedicated to the Upton on Severn VAD Detachment at Handley Castle in WW1 referring to a flag which is missing, a WW1 Sacrifice Medal in the name of David John Handwell, and a poppy wreath with a list of the dead.
Inscription: Tablet - THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919/ THE IMMORTAL DEAD/ (NAMES)/ "THESE MEN WERE A WALL UNTO US BY NIGHT AND BY DAY" Plaque - THIS FLAG / RECORDS THE WORK OF THE / UPTON-ON-SEVERN V.A.DETACHMENT AT / RHYDD COURT AUXILIARY HOSPITAL / HANDLEY CASTLE, 1915-1919, / DURING THE GREAT WAR. Sacrifice Medal - HE DIED FOR FREEDOM AND HONOUR (name).
