    Rectangular stone tablet with moulded border. Incised black painted inscription. Beneath the tablet is a wooden shelf shelf supported by two wooden brackets with decorative whorls.

    TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF / (NAMES) / OF THIS PARISH OR CLOSELY CONNECTED THEREWITH, WHO / FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919 THIS TABLET IS EREC / TED BY THE PROUD & EVER GRATEFUL PARISHIONERS OF SHURDINGTON. / "THUS THESE MEN DIED, LEAVING THEIR DEATHS FOR AN EXAM / PLE OF NOBLE COURAGE UNTO AL THEIR NATIONAL." 2 MACC.VI.31. / WE PRAISE THEE O GOD.
