WMR Reference Number: 3237
Description: Three steps up to an octagonal pedestal in two levels. This supports a square column. On each face at the base of the column is a relief laurel wreath design. The column is surmounted by a potent cross. Lower panels of the base base comprise eight panels of approx 50 names in two columns. At the mid level, panels comprise alternate relief design of helmet, oak leaves, water bottle, gas mask and inscription.
Inscription: Front Face: TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN MEMORY OF/ THE MEN OF THIS TOWNSHIP WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ IN THE GREAT WAR Right of Face: OUR/ GLORIOUS/ DEAD Rear of Face: FOR KING/ AND/ COUNTRY Left of Face: FIGHTING/ NOBLY/ FELL. (Names)
