Description: Statue of a Great War soldier in 'Rest on your arms reversed' posture, head bowed and rifle reversed, mounted on a square plinth and single step base. Incised names and inscription in black on sides of plinth, WW1 fallen on the front, WW2 below and to right side with further inscriptions on the sides.
Inscription: 6 o'clock (front) plinth face: (22 WW1 Names) // 6 o'clock bevel of step face: (2 NAMES) // 6 o'clock (front) step face: 1939 - 45 / (2 NAMES) // 3 o'clock plinth face: TO THE HONOUR AND GLORY / OF GOD, AND IN GRATEFUL / REMEMBRANCE OF THE MEN / OF THIS PARISH WHO MADE / THE SUPREME SACRIFICE / IN THE GREAT WAR, AND / WHOSE NAMES ARE WRITTEN / HERE, THIS MEMORIAL IS / ERECTED BY THEIR RELATIVES / AND FRIENDS. // 3 o'clock step face: (2x WW2 NAMES) // 9 o'clock plinth face: WHO LIVES IF FREEDOM FALLS / WHO DIES IF ENGLAND LIVES. // 12 o'clock plinth face: THE SOULS OF THE RIGHTEOUS / ARE IN THE HAND OF GOD.
