    Maintenance History
The base of the former memorial can still be seen at Radcliffe, because the mining was on the east side of the road, and the memorial was on the west side. The remains of the former memorial include the bases of the wing walls with wrought iron raiiings. It is surrounded by bushes. Affixed to one gatepost is a plaque dedicated to Mr Wade who had moved abroad, but wanted his ashes scattered at a village he didn't realise no longer existed (he died in 1996). A local lady, a relative of the family, tends the site about four times a year.
