    ROLL OF HONOUR/ LIST OF NORTHUMBRIA'S GALLANT SONS FROM HEXHAM, PRUDHOE, HALTWHISTLE, STOCKSFIELD, CORBRIDGE/ BELLINGHAM, NEWBURN, HAYDON BRIDGE, ALLENDALE, ETC WHO HAVE RESPONDED/ TO THEIR COUNTRY'S CALL/ (NAMES)/ Top left hand corner -“Fall In! / Why do they call, sonny, why do they / call / For men who are brave and strong? / Is it nought to you if your country fall / And Right is smashed by Wrong? . Is it football still and the picture show, / The pub and the betting odds, / When your brothers stand in the tyrant’s / blow / And England’s call is God’s.” Top right hand corner- “Prayer of the People / Lord, from this storm-awakened isle, / At this dark hour on land and sea, / ‘Twixt bugle-call and Sabbath bell / Go up our prayers to Thee. / Where’er our people be tonight / Our husbands or our sons / Tossed on the thunder-bolted deep, / Or bivouacked by the guns; / Treading the mire of a foreign land .
