    Description
    Two stepped base surmounted by a tapering plinth, shaft and celtic cross. Inscription in black lettering on the sides of the plinth. Whole is enclosed by metal railings. Additional tablets have been added at the base of the 3 o'clock face (the fallen from conflicts after WW2) and the 6 o'clock face (information on unveiling and designer). Celtic knotwork design on the cross.

    6 o'clock face: MEWN/ ANGHOF/ NI/ CHANT/ FOD (Translation: They shall not be forgotten)/ IN PROUD AND GRATEFUL/ MEMORY OF/ THE MEN OF RHYMNEY/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR US IN THE GREAT WARS/ 1914 - 1919 & 1939 - 1945./ "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN/ THAN THIS, THAT A MAN/ LAY DOWN HIS LIFE/ FOR HIS FRIENDS."/ ST JOHN. XV. 13./ 1914 - 1919/ MEMORIAL UNVEILED OCTOBER 1929/ DESIGNED BY EDWARD A.
