Description: Screen in light-coloured wood, comprising 2 glazed panels, either side of 2 glazed doors. The dedication is incised on the 4 horizontal door/panel rails in gold capital script. An elaborately-shaped top rail has a raised, carved HMS Monmouth crest at the centre. To the right of the screen there is a Book of Remembrance in a light-wood case with a glazed opening lid with a brass, dedicatory plaque on the front edge. A union flag and a red ensign are hung beside the Book of Remembrance.
Inscription: Reredos: DEDICATED TO THE 690/ MEN OF HMS MONMOUTH/ LOST WITH THEIR SHIP AT/ THE BATTLE OF CORONEL/ ON THE 1ST NOVEMBER 1914/ THERE WERE NO SURVIVORS Book of Remembrance case: IN MEMORY OF THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF HMS MONMOUTH/ LOST AT CORONEL 1ST NOVEMBER 1914/ DONATED BY ROYAL NAVAL ASSOCIATION , MONMOUTH BRANCH/ IN TRIBUTE TO (name) Memo: the name attributed on the plaque is not one of the fallen.
