    Description
Two-stepped octagonal base with radius-edged platform upper faces, surmounted by a rectangular sectioned plinth, square sectioned, stop-flute sided, tapering column, and a capital carved in the form of a crown and cross with a square centre. Incised slate inscription tablets attached to each side of plinth. The whole memorial stands on a gravelled road junction island, partially enclosed by a wall due to the gradient fall towards Nether Street from Chapel Street. Tablets have been updated with extra names, or when broken, replaced, as is the case for the original WW1 dedicatory tablet from Face 1 which now leans against the east end wall in the South aisle of the nearby St Peter's Church.
