Rising from the plinth is a round sectioned column incorporating, near its base, a niche in which, is a carved figure of St. George. Column is topped by a capital & hooded cross. Upper stage of plinth faces are decorated with quatrefoils in relief, a St. George shield alternating with the years 1914/1918 all in relief. A banded inscription in relief, circumnavigates the four upper plinth faces. One incised WW1 name is added to the 3 o'clock face.
