    Description
    Roadside composite memorial comprising a figure of Christ on a Crucifix carved in limestone, under a wooden gable, set before an arch. To either side, are curving walls with terminal pillars bearing bronze name plaques. Incised inscription tablet beneath the Crucifixion. WW2 plaque at base of central pedestal.

    On gableboards: THEY LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES UNTO DEATH // Front face of pedestal: YE WHO PASS BY /REMEMBER BEFORE GOD THE / GALLANT DEAD WHOSE NAMES ARE WRITTEN / HERE, THOUGH MANY LIE IN OTHER LANDS / THEY FELL IN THE GREAT WAR OF 1914-1919. / "THE MEN WERE VERY GOOD UNTO US, AND WE WERE NOT HURT. / THEY WERE A WALL UNTO US BOTH BY NIGHT AND DAY" // On forward faces of the terminal pillars of the bounding walls: (71 NAMES) // On plinth: ALSO THESE WHO ADDED THE GIFT OF THEIR LIVES 1939-1945 / (14 NAMES)
