Description: MASSIVE SQUARE PEDESTAL AND SQUARE THREE STEP BASE. SURMOUNTING ALL IS A DOMED TEMPLE LIKE STRUCTURE RESTING ON SIX PILLARS, AND COVERING AN URN. INSET PANELS ON EACH FACE CONTAIN NAME LISTS AND (FRONT) A DECORATIVE RELIEF PANEL (SEE BELOW) DECORATIVE PANEL DEPICTS A FEMALE FIGURE (ANGEL?) CRADLING THEHEAD OF A FALLEN KNIGHT IN ARMOUR
Inscription: FOR GOD KING AND COUNTRY/ THE PEOPLE OF ALDERBURY, BAUSLEY, CARDISTON AND WATTLESBORO ERECTED THIS MEMORIAL IN 1919 IN HONOUR OF THE GLORIOUS DEAD, WHOSE NAMES ARE HEREON INSCRIBED, IN ORDER THAT FUTURE GENERATIONS MIGHT REALISE THE GREAT GALLANTRY AND SELF SACRIFICE OF THOSE WHO, SO WILLINGLY, GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919 (SIDE) 1914 - 1919 (NAMES) (REVERSE) 1939 - 1945/ (NAMES)
