Description: Two light window decorated as below, with wall mounted Triptych underneath. Inset carving depicts the burial of Christ. Window depicts the Holy Trinity with a Priest saying Requiem Mass. Congregation in the form of the Holy Family. On the lower front of the cabinet are the coats of arms of (left to right) Ireland, Great Britain, England Reliquary contains Roll of Honour and personal effects of the Fallen.
Inscription: IN GRATITUDE/ PRAY FOR THE SOULS OF THE MEN OF ST CHADS CONGREGATION WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR US IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919 WHOSE NAMES ARE/ ENSHRINED HEREIN/ (NAMES)/ 1939 - 1945/ (NAMES) The War Memorial // commemorates the men of the Cathedral Parish / who died in the two World Wars of the 20th century. / It was designed and made by Gerald J. Hardman & Co. and dedicated by / Archbishop John McIntyre on Armistice Day. 11 November 1921. // The cabinet contains the Roll of Honour with the names / of 200 men who died in the First World War / along with their personal mementoes. // The memorial window above, designed by Hardman's. The server is a portrait of one of our young men who died in the First World War. // (cross) // (???)
