      Reason for move

The Isle of Wight Constabulary was formally absorbed into the Hampshire Constabulary in 1943; consequently, the building in Fairlee Road, Newport ceased to be Force Headquarters. The actual date the memorial was subsequently moved to Newport Police Station in the High Street is unknown, but by 2006 it was in the Crime Incident Management Unit office at that address, in the care of PC Nigel Roberts.
