    PLAIN RECTANGULAR BRASS PLAQUE MOUNTED IN A WOODEN FRAME
    Inscription
    WW1 PLAQUE: TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOURED MEMORY/ OF THE STAFF OF THE KENT COUNTY MENTAL HOSPITAL/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918./ (NAMES)/ "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS." LOWER PLAQUE: THESE TWO WAR MEMORIALS WERE FORMERLY MOUNTED/ IN THE CHURCH OF ST SAVIOUR WITHIN THE GROUNDS OF/ THE OAKWOOD PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL./ THEY WERE FOUND IN A ROADSIDE DITCH./ THE CONGREGATION OF ST ANDREW'S FEEL THAT THE SACRIFICE/ OF THESE PEOPLE SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE HONOURED./ THEY HAVE BEEN RESTORED BY MAUREEN LOVERING/ AND REMOUNTED BY JAMES LAKELAND./ THEYR WERE RE DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF THE FALLEN/ ON 15-DECEMBER-2002/ "AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN/ AND IN THE MORNING,/ WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"

    2001: PLAQUE IS CURRENTLY AT A PRIVATE DWELLING WHILST A NEW LOCATION IS BEING SOUGHT FOR IT. 15th December 2002: Both the WW1 and WW2 plaques are now in St Andrew's parish church in Barming Heath on the outskirts of Maidstone.

    THE WW1 AND WW2 MEMORIALS WERE DUMPED WHEN THE HOSPITAL AND ST SAVIOURS CHAPEL IN THE GROUNDS WERE DEMOLISHED. THEY WERE SUBSEQUENTLY RESCUED BY THE TEYNHAM BRANCH OF THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION AND A NEW HOME FOR THEM WAS FOUND IN THEIR CURRENT LOCATION
