    Description
The Memorial sits to the rear of a small garden originally created for the siting of the town's Peace Cairn (WMR 111128) in 1995, which is at the front of the site. A square section Portland stone column in three vertical sections; the lower with columnar corners; a plain block with buttressed corners and atop, a pitched four part gable 'roof'. Set on a granite base. The main incised inscription and names of the fallen are on the front face, those who served on the faces to right and left. There is a stainless steel plaque on the left at the front of the site recording that the garden area, and the Peace Cairn were refurbished to receive the column when it was re-erected there in 2012. There is also a commemorative slate tablet on the right at the front of the site with a copy of the inscription and names.

      Year of move

      2012

      Reason for move

The memorial was originally erected between the chapel's entrance pillars. This eventually created an obstruction for vehicular access and the column was re-positioned to the right, in a corner of the grounds, but next to the boundary wall. The church closed in 2010 and was later sold for commercial use, and the memorial was moved to its present site in 2012.
