Description: Standard GRU/IWGC wooden battlefield cross with one metal tag at the top of the upright , partly detached and two metal tags at the crossing point . A third metal strip which would usually contain date of death is missing . The cross is free standing fixed to a wooden rectangular base with angled sides
Inscription: I.W.G.C./ 752. SGT. A SHEPHARD D.C.M./ 1/8TH SHERWOOD FORS note The surname is incorrect and should be "SHEPPARD" See CWGC under references
