Description: Small Latin cross on top of a tall, slender tapering shaft, which surmounts a hexagonal pedestal and 2 step base. Facing the road, at the base of the shaft, is the figure of a knight standing behind a shield upon which is the cross of St George: beneath the figure is the Cheshire coat of arms. Beneath this, on the front three faces of the pedestal, in the commemoration in raised lettering.
Inscription: IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN FROM/ BOWDON WHO FOUGHT AND LAID DOWN THEIR/ LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918/ IS IT NOTHING TO YOU ALL YE THAT PASS BY/ AND OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN - THE - WAR 1939 - 1945
