    Maintenance History
One small granite pillar (76m) was damaged and was lying beside base of memorial, as the chain broke off. County Council workmen rectifed problem immediately (within one day). Lord St David's allowed council to widen roadway by giving strip of his land. Enabled council to build war memorial in the middle of the road with room for traffic on either side.
