Description: Rectangular brass plaque mounted on a grey marble backboard. The plaque has an incised inscription, and an incised Gothic frame with tower-capped pillar and a brattish top on either side of the plaque. A multifoil arch is suspended across the top. At top-centre of the plaque is the Gordon Highlanders' badge.
Inscription: TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ WILLIAM MUNRO ROSS/ LIEUTENANT 2ND BATTALION/ GORDON HIGHLANDERS/ BORN MARCH 22ND 1892/ KILLED IN ACTION/ IN THE ATTACK ON NEUVE CHAPELLE/ MARCH 11TH 1915/ GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS/ THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR/ HIS FRIENDS.
