    • Herts and Essex Observer Saturday 10 April 1920 reported the unveiling: 'There was a crowded congregation at the Parish Church on Easter Day in the evening when the Vicar (Rev. W.I. Williams) unveiled and dedicated a beautiful marble tablet in memory of the men from this parish who lost their lives in the war. The choir sang the Anthem 'Christ is Risen' and solos were well sung by Miss Elsie Turner and two little girls, Mary Neville and Dorothy Tuck. After the collect, the vicar was accompanied by the choir boys, each boy carrying a bunch of forget-me-nots to place at the base of the tablet during the unveiling and dedication. A hymn was sung during which time many relatives of the fallen placed flowers at the foot of the tablet. Beneath the 21 names on the tablet are the words, "Ye live in high honour who have fallen thus"'.
