Description: VERTICALLY ORIENTED BLACK STONE PLAQUE WITH PALE PINK MARBLE OR ALABASTER FRAME. RAISED TOP CONTAINS A SMALL GOLD CRUCIFIX. THE FRAME IS DOTTED WITH GOLD PAINTED FLORAL DETAILING. CARVED AND RAISED LETTERING FOR THE WW1 DETAILS. THE WW2 INFORMATION IS ON A SEPARATE BRASS PLAQE MOUNTED IMMEDIATELY BELOW. The WW1 lettering is raised, but being black on black background, is difficult to read. For this reason I have added photo of just the WW1 lettering with enhanced contrast to make it clearer.
Inscription: WE PRAY YOU REMEMBER WITH/ THANKSGIVING AND WITH ALL/ HONOUR BEFORE GOD AND MEN/ THOSE OF THIS VILLAGE WHO/ WENT FORTH IN THE SERVICE OF/ THEIR KING AND COUNTRY DURING/ THE YEARS OF THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1919 AND/ RETURNETH NOT AGAIN/ (NAMES)/ AND IN THE SECOND GREAT WAR/ 1939 - 1945/ (NAME)
