    Description
    Original WW1 marble tablet and a later plain plaque above dedicated to those lost in other 20th century conflicts. The original tablet has at centre top a panel carrying the crest of Armstrong College in high colour with leaves on either side. Below this are seven panels separated by vertical bronze strips with a boss at top and bottom: these panels bear the names of those commemorated in Roman capitals, incised and painted black. Below is a rectangle bearing the dedication, with the dates "1914" and "1918" at the sides. The later tablet bears an incised dedication, with the crest of Newcastle University to the left.
