    Maintenance History
On 8/7/1922 the Hampshire Chronicle reported that, at the Parish Council meeting held on 4/7/1922, they had officially taken over responsibility for the War Memorial Cross. On 1/2/2000 the Daily Echo reported that the memorial was in need of major repairs, as some of the earth supporting the concrete slab on which it stood had been washed away. (The slab spanned a drainage gully). The memorial was repaired in 2000 by the Parish Council at a cost of £542, to remedy the erosion problem. On 4/10/2014 the Romsey Advertiser reported that the addition of further names to the memorial was being considered, due to discoveries made during research undertaken by Copythorne Historical Society.
