Description: Rectangular inscription tablet surmounted by a cornice and triangular pediment. Fouled anchor carved in relief in centre of pediment. Inscription in black lettering. Whole is mounted onto a stone backboard.
Inscription: Sacred/ TO THE MEMORY OF/ LIEUT. W. H. H. MONTRESOR, R.N./ H.M.S. EURYALUS./ SECOND AND ELDEST SURVIVING SON/ OF ADMIRAL F. B. MONTRESOR,/ BORN MARCH 11TH 1855,/ DIED MARCH 13TH 1884./ KILLED WHILE BRAVELY DEFENDING THE/ GUNS OF THE NAVAL BRIGADE/ AT THE BATTLE OF TAMASI IN THE/ SOUDAN, EGYPT.
