Description: PLINTH SURMOUNTED BY RECUMBANT FIGURE WITH AN EAGLE AT ITS FEET. CARVED INSCRIPTION ON A GOLD BACKGROUND ON THREE SIDES OF THE PLINTH A CANDELABRA STANDS AT THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE PLINTH FAMILY CREST AND REGIMENTAL BADGES DEPICTED ON THE SIDES OF THE PLINTH. SWORD WITH LAUREL GARLAND BORDER DEPICTED EITHER SIDE OF THE TWO SECTIONS OF INSCRIPTION ON SIDE 3
Inscription: SIDE 1: PRO/ PATRIA/ MORI SIDE 2: TO THE GLORY OF GOD & IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ THEIR TWO SONS JOHN AND ALFRED WHO/ GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR KING & COUNTRY IN/ THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 THIS MONUMENT/ IS ERECTED BY LORD & LADY FORSTER OF LEPE SIDE 3, LEFT: JOHN FORSTER 2ND LIEUT/ KING'S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS/ KILLED IN ACTION/ SEPT 14TH 1914 AT THE FIRST/ BATTLE OF THE AISNE SIDE 3, RIGHT: ALFRED HENRY FORSTER/ LIEUT ROYAL SCOTS GREYS/ DIED MARCH 10TH 1919/ OF WOUNDS RECEIVED/ IN ACTION OCT 17TH 1918
