    • Primary source: a recollection from 'Mr Mott' aged 84 years old in 1990. 'Mr Mott... remembers the dedication he was a scout at the time. he remembers that they marched past the memorial and he was the only one to salute and received a pat on the back by the rector. He thinks Col Catchpole unveiled and dedicated it. the col son was killed in the great war.' There is a plaque in the church to his son.
