    Description
    Octagonal Cross and plinth surmounted by a carved laurel wreath and crown sitting on three octagonal steps and base. This is set in a larger area of gravel surrounded by a chain fence and posts. The incised inscription is on six faces of the plinth.

    Face 1: ERECTED TO/ THE HONOURED/ MEMORY/ OF THE MEN FROM/ EAST AND WEST/ BARKWITH,/ WHO GAVE THEIR/ LIVES FOR THEIR/ COUNTRY/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918./ LIVETH FOR/ Face 2: (Names)/ "THEIR NAME/ Face 3: (Names)/ Face 4: IN MEMORY OF/ THE MEN FROM/ PANTON/ (Names)/ Face 5 & 6: (Blank) Face 7: THE FOLLOWING/ MEN FROM/ EAST & WEST/ BARKWITH/ GAVE THEIR LIVES/ IN THE WORLD WAR/ 1939-1945/ (Names)/ MAY THEY REST IN/ PEACE./ Face 8: (Names)/ EVERMORE."
