Description: Two sports playing fields. Football pitch still in use. Cricket field no longer in use for this purpose. There was a wooden board housed in the cricket pavillion bearing the names of the fallen.

Additional Cost/Sponsorship Information: The£250 was the cost of the cricket field. The cost of the football pitch is unknown. At the end of WW2 the Parish decided to lay out a playing field as a memorial to those that had fallen. A subscription list was started and sufficient funds were accumulated to purchase a 9 acre field, now known as the football field. this ground now also contains children's swings still in use. Money was left over from the original subscription when the cricket ground in Broome park was advertised for sale, the committee decided to purchase it using up all the available funds.
Maintenance History: The board was nearly lost when the cricket pavilion was badly damaged by fire and was subsequently moved into the village hall. The board is registered as (Our ref. 54419.)
