    Description
A composite memorial comprising altar and reredos set into the south wall. The predella (platform/step on which the altar stands) opens up to reveal eight brass plaques which bear the majority of the names of those commemmorated. The rest are are on two additional brass plaques not included in the main structure. The upper section forms a triptych taken from a ruined abbey in northern France, and on the outside of the doors are the figures of St Walburge and St Ignatius, founder of the Society of Jesus, in armour. The centrepiece is an almost life-sized Calvary with the Virgin Mary and St John carved in oak on either side. At the foot of the cross is the Preston Coat of Arms. A dedicatory polished brass plaque with an inscription is located on the right side of the memorial. In addition, the memorial include a silver Chalice, a gold Monstrance and a silver Altar Cross formed from a broken sword, thought to be dedicated by a family to their son (not confirmed). Also included is framed and glazed copy of a page from the Parish Magazine, 'The Walburgian' detailing the names and units for those lost in the Second World War.
