Description: An alabaster tablet in a wooden frame. Across the top of the tablet is carved the name of the village above a nowy headed frieze in relief with a wreath supporting a crown and the badges of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, the Royal Scots and the Norfolk Regiments, and the Corps of the Royal Engineers. The inscription is incised in upright capial Roman lettering infilled in brown. The wooden frame is carved with sprays of laurel with rope twist borders.
Inscription: FENNY BENTLEY/ TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN GRATEFUL/ MEMORY OF/ (Names)/ FROM THIS PARISH/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR/ GOD, KING AND COUNTRY/ IN THE GREAT WAR./ 1914 1919

History

Maintenance History: 7June 2011: Some of the brown infill had been lost from the inscription but the lettering remained sharp and legible. 13 September 1967: Church listed Grade II*, Heritage List for England number 1335262. The church and churchyard lie within the Fenny Bentley Conservation Area. The church and churchyard lie within the Peak District National Park.
