    Description
    Horizontally wall mounted rectangular wooden board, with small semi circular protrusion at top centre and two decorative supports on base. Moulding along all top edges, wreath in centre protrusion. Memorial divided into three sections by two vertical decorative fluted columns topped by lions heads, carved lettering to both right and left panels. Centre panel has carved name of soldier beneath photograph of same, top left and top right photograph have fallen behind memorial leaving a white card with name of soldier only visible. Small decorative shelf at bottom across entire width. Small metal plaque beneath, but completely seperate, is inscribed with explanation of dedication of memorial immediately above. Metal plaque attached to slightly larger wooden backing, with raised edges, which frames it.

    TOP: 1914 - 1919 LEFT PANEL: TO/ THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND/ IN GRATEFUL/ REMEMBRANCE/ OF THE/ MEN OF THE/ CHURCH OF WHOM/ ALMOST ALL WERE/ SCHOLARS OF/ THIS SCHOOL/ WHO/ FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR CENTRE PANEL: (Names) RIGHT PANEL: IT IS/ FOR US WHO LIVE/ BY/ THEIR SUPREME/ DEVOTION/ TO/ MAKE THE FUTURE/ WORTHY OF/ THE/ SACRIFICES OF/ THE PAST/ AND HIS SERVANTS/ SHALL DO HIM/ SERVICE/ REV. 22 3 DEDICATION PLAQUE: This tablet of Remembrance/was given by/ Mr GEORGE LOOMS/ as a tribute to the young men of the School/ who joined the forces in the Great War/ and as a perpetual Memorial/ of those who died
