    Wall mounted, landscape oriented slate backboard supporting an incised white marble tablet. Inscription infilled with black paint.

    To the Glory of God / AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF / WILLIAM ERNEST MACHIN, / AGED 28 YEARS. / CHARLES HENRY MACHIN, / AGED 26 YEARS. / WHO WERE VOLUNTEERS IN THE GREAT WAR OF 1914. / JOINED THE LINCOLNSHIRE YEOMANRY, / WERE SENT TO EGYPT & PALESTINE, / THEY BOTH FELL ON THE SAME DAY NOVer. 28TH. 1917. / IN THE BATTLE FOR JERUSALEM. AND INTERRED AT TARTA. / LOVELY AND PLEASANT IN THEIR LIVES, / AND IN DEATH THEY ARE NOT DIVIDED. / THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY THEIR SORROWING PARENTS.
