    • AUCHTERDERRAN PARISH – This memorial, erected by Mr Murdoch, sculptor, Kirkcaldy, on the glebe at Auchterderran, Fife, was unveiled by Mrs Goodall, Cardenbank; and Mrs Graham (who lost a son and two sons respectively in the war), and dedicated by the parish minister, the Rev. A. M’Neill Houston, who gave the site. He read a list of 190 names of men from the parish who paid the supreme sacrifice. Addresses were given by Mr Adamson, M.P., for Fife; and Mr Chas. Carlow, J.P., chairman of the Fife Coal Company. Many beautiful wreaths from the Fife Coal Company, the Women’s Guild of the Parish Church, and other friends and bereaved relatives were placed on the Cenotaph at the close of the ceremony. Several thousand parishioners attended, and all local bodies were represented on the platform, under the chairmanship of Mr W. Reid, miner, president of the War Memorial Committee. The chairman of the Parish Council accepted custody of the memorial for that body. The Scotsman, Wednesday, 12 April 1922, 12.
