    Description
    An imposing and evocative Highland soldier in Steel Helmet, Greatcoat and 1914 Equipment stands pensively leaning on his Rifle with left fist to chin. Stands upon a rectangular stone pillar on three stepped base. On all four sides of the base are the names of the fallen.

    • Fifeshire Advertiser - Saturday 10 May 1919 Page 5 "The memorial is to be erected in front of the Public School." Later reports in the 1930s give the location as Station Road but not known whether it was moved or the planned location was changed.
