    Pale marble tablet with carved inscription, border in red marble. Family crest (animal's head - dog-like) surrounded by laurel wreath, beneath which are crossed swords.
    Inscription
    To the glory of God and in loving memory of the members of the Tryon family who fell in the Great War 1914-1918. Richard Tryon. Captain 6th Battalion The Rifle Brigade, attached 2nd Kings Royal Rifles. Killed in action, near Givenchy, Le Basee Canal. 10th January l915. Aged 46. Henry Tryon. Captain 8th Battalion Rifle Brigade. Killed in action in the Battle of the Somme, near Guedecort. 16th September 1916. Aged 42. Eldest and second sons of the late Captain Richard Tryon, Rifle Brigade and Mrs Tryon. Frederick Charles Hilbers Tryon. Major 73rd Battalion Royal Highlanders of Canada. Died of wounds 14th November 1916. Buried at Contay, France. Aged 35. John Francis Tryon. Lieutenant R.N. In command of H.M.Submarine G8, sunk whilst on patrol duty in the Kattagat, about 14th January l918. Aged 26. Eldest and youngest sons of Steven and Mary Tryon of Hallen Lodge, Henbury. George Arthur Tryon M.C. Lieutenant Colonel 4th Kings Royal Rifle Corps. Killed in action at St. Aubin, near Mauberge, after four years' service 7th November l918. Aged 32. Son of the Reverend Arthur William and Kathleen Tryon and only grandson of Major General Samuel Tryon, 43rd Regiment. (Exact line spacing unknown)
