Description: White Marble Tablet in a brown alabaster frame for WW1 with a simple white marble tablet below for WW2. The spandrils over the centre arch of the WW1 memorial contain figures of angels holding a scroll reading “Their name liveth in glory for evermore”.
Inscription: IN GRATEFUL MEMORY/OF THE MEN OF THIS CONGREGATION AND PARISH/WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY/IN THE GREAT WAR/1914-1918/[names]/ IN MEMORY OF/THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THIS CHURCH AND PARISH/WHO DIED IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR/1939-1945/WITH GRATITUDE

Rev FC Costeloe, Vicar of Nottingham (but St John’s until a few months earlier)
