Description: Obelisk set on a plinth, with tablets on three faces and set on a three stepped base with surrounding paving. Carving of a sailng ship at foot of obelisk, and crossed sword and spear on base.
Inscription: On obelisk: TO THE/ GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN/ HONOURED/ MEMORY OF/ THE MEN OF/ THIS DISTRICT/ WHO LAID/ DOWN THEIR/ LIVES IN THE/ GREAT WAR. 12 o'clock plaque: THW WELCH REGIMENT/ (Names)/ THE ROYAL WELCH FUSILIERS/ (Names)/ SOUTH WALES BORDERERS. 3 o'clock face: (Names) 9 o'clock face: (Names) On foot of plinth on three sides: THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE. On small tablet at base: ERECTED BY THE INHABITANTS OF/ RHYDYFELIN AND DISTRICT/ UNVEILED ON JUNE 14th 1923, BY/ COL. HENRY MORGAN LINDSEY C.B. R.E.
