Description: Bronze plaque with a cast frame and the inscription in raised lettering. On the left is a wreath encircling the top part of a sword and below it the crest of The Buffs Regiment.
Inscription: TO THE MEMORY OF/ THOMAS WILLIAM UNDERHILL/ 2nd Lt (THE BUFFS) EAST KENT REGIMENT/ WHO SERVED IN THE GREAT EUROPEAN WAR AND WAS/ KILLED IN ACTION ON 19th AUGUST 1916 AT WATERLOT/ FARM NEAR DELVILLE WOOD AND WAS BURIED AT/ BRAY-SUR-SOMME AGE 19 YEARS./ THE ONLY SON AND CHILD OF HERBERT GEORGE AND EDITH/ MARY UNDERHILL OF WOOTTON COURT KENT AND A/ GRANDSON OF THOMAS WATERHOUSE OF THIS PARISH/ THIS TABLET IS PLACED BY HIS MOTHER AND HIS UNCLE/ LIEUT- COLONEL T.F. WATERHOUSE D.S.O. COMMANDING/ 1/6TH BATTALION SOUTH STAFFS REGT. IN HONOUR OF A/ BRAVE SON OF ENGLAND WHO WAS BORN IN THIS PARISH.
