    Description
    Triptych with hinged doors, and a triangular pediment. The central panel has a raised latin cross. The names are on the central panel and the inside of the doors. Below that section is a rectangular pediment with the dedication.

    Pediment: FOR GOD,/ KING AND COUNTRY/ Each door: ROLL/ OF HONOUR/ (NAMES) Central panel: (NAMES)/ LEST WE FORGET Pedestal: TO THE HONOURED MEMORY OF THE ABOVE, FORMER PUPILS OF THIS/ SCHOOL, AND IN SPECIAL REMEMBRANCE OF HIS ELDEST SON/ ARCHIBALD JOHN SCOTT ANDERSON, 2nd LIEUT. 11th CHESHIRE REGT./ WHO FELL IN ACTION, IN FRANCE, AUGUST 27th 1916 AGED 23 YEARS./ THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY HIS FATHER DAVID E. ANDERSON, AN OLD/ PUPIL OF FORFAR ACADEMY./ "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT HE LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS."

    David E. Anderson (father of Archibald John Scott Anderson) donated the memorial in memory of his son and all the other pupils who had died.
    Maintenance History
    When the triptych was originally unveiled in May 1919, it was reported to bear 65 names in black lettering. On an unknown date since, the memorial has been altered, as it now records 71 names, all of which are in gold lettering.
