WMR Reference Number: 69545
Description: A two steps base to pink granite tapered plinth with obelisk. The inscription is carved in black and names are on the sides of plinth. The obelisk is decorated with crossed flags and laurel leaves. A Latin phrase 'Pro Patria' is written in the middle of the crossed flags.
Inscription: THIS MONUMENT HAS BEEN ERECTED/ BY THE PEOPLE OF HOLYWOOD/ TO THE SACRED MEMORY OF/ THOSE WHO LEFT THIS PARISH/ AND MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1918/ "Greater love hath no man than this/ than a man lay down his lift/ for his friends"/ (Names)
